About Miss Goldberg

Home

H! My name is Miss Goldberg and I am going to be your 3rd grade teacher! This will be my first year teaching at Pleasant Crossing Elementary, but my ninth year of teaching. I love teaching and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have.

I grew up on the north east side of Indianapolis and graduated from Lawrence North High School. I played volleyball through middle and high school. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education (PK-6) from Marshall University and I also completed my master's education in Special Education K-12.

This summer, I moved to Greenwood, went boating on Raccoon Lake, and got a new puppy. I can't wait to spend the next year learning and growing with you.

Classroom Management

Behavior

Students have many chances to be rewarded for good behavior. Classroom/school reward systems are outlined below.

Clip Chart

-Students will move their clip up for good behavior and down for poor behavior.

-If a student clips down below green before recess, they will lose a portion of their recess (blue=5 minutes, purple=10 minutes, gray=entire recess).

-If the student is on purple or gray at the end of the day, they will take home a Behavior Warning. They will describe in complete sentences why they clipped down and how they can improve. If they do not return this form signed the next day, they will lose recess time.

-Students who clip up to red will get 5 extra Warrior Way tickets.

-On Fridays, I will look at each student’s behavior log. If they had 4 or more days on green or above, they will receive 5 Warrior Way tickets. If a student was on green or above all week, they will receive 10 tickets. If a student clipped above green (yellow, orange, or red) every day of the week, they will receive 15 Warrior Way tickets.

-

Warrior Way Tickets

-Students can earn Warrior Way tickets for extra special behavior. Whiteland Warriors are responsible, respectful, and ready to learn.

-This year, tickets will be kept in bags in the students’ desks. Each Friday, students will be able to turn in their tickets for prizes. They can choose to trade their tickets in for a prize at that time or continue saving up for a larger prize.

School Application

 Remind 101

I am excited to announce that I will be using Remind 101 to send cell phone notifications this year! I know it is very difficult to remember all the stuff your child needs to bring to school or when things are due. I also realize that A LOT of papers come home and how easy it is to lose them. I am hoping by using Remind 101, it will help you at home. If you text @feh37e to 81010, I will be able to send you notifications straight to your cell about upcoming events, things that are due, etc. Please sign up! If you have any questions, please see the reverse side of this paper for more detailed instructions. You can also email jgoldberg@cpcsc.k12.in.us.

Thank you for the continued support at home!
